Speakers blasted music that could be heard for blocks around the stadium.

Field is near its completion after months of hard work.... even through a pandemic.

Kezi nine news reporter connor mccarthy is live at the university of oregon campus where he witnessed the a display of lights and heard some live music..finally seing the vision come to light..connor what was that like.

Chynna-- being out here looking at bright lights and listening to loud music brought memories back at sporting events.

The test run made people come outside around the stadium and just listen.... something many of us are not use to after being inside for so many weeks because of the pandemic.

Nats for 4 seconds thats the sound of speakers blasting music at the stadium as sky 9 flys over.

The national anthem was played... tom petty... and of course the oregon version of coming home.

When the sun went down the lights came on and check out this lighting.

A worker tells me 12 fiber optic cables were used to light up this tower.

President michael schill says today's display is just part of what will make this place so amazing.

The best is yet to come when we start filling hayward field with people and we start having races and we got to have athletic events the new stadium is set to contain 12,500 seats with up to 30,000 temporary seating.

As you can see groups of people watched and listened outside the stadium this evening.

At the end of the night they played a quick video of the history of track and field and finished off with all of the lights on.... shining bright on the field.

Chynna-- it's still unclear as to when the finished product will be revealed.

But the stadium is expected to be good to go for the u.s. olympics trials that have been postponed until june 2021.
