'Unlock 1': Shopping malls, religious places to reopen from June 08

The Ministry of Home Affairs, on May 30 issued new guidelines for phased re-opening of all activities outside containment zones for the next one month.

However, lockdown to continue in Containment zones till June 30, only essential activities will be allowed here.

After two months of nationwide lockdown in the view of coronavirus pandemic, shopping malls have been all geared up for new normal.

Shopping malls will be reopened from June 08 under first phase of unlock 01 condition.

Religious places hotels, restaurants and other hospitality services permitted to open from June 08.Schools, colleges, educational/ training/ coaching institutions will be opened after consultations with States and Union Territories under the second phase in the month of July.

However, reopening of International air travel, operation of Metro Rail, cinema halls, gymnasiums, swimming pools, entertainment parks etc will be decided based on assessment of the situation.

Meanwhile, the total number of active cases of coronavirus pandemic mounted to 86,422 across the country.

Kangana’s lawyer also released a statement saying that the notice sent by the BMC was bad-in-law and a bid to intimidate the actor. Kangana has been granted Y-plus category security by the Home Ministry, after the actor requested the centre to provide her security as she has no faith in the Mumbai police. Metro services resumed in Delhi, Lucknow and Bengaluru after a hiatus of over 5 month due to the Covid pandemic. Strict screening and social distancing norms had been put in place at the stations. In Delhi, the yellow line which connects Samaypur Badli to HUDA City Centre was the first line to be opened. People were seen entering the station with adequate protection. Thermal screenings were conducted before the passengers were allowed to enter the station. Even inside the metro, adequate measures were in place to ensure social distancing norms were followed. Proper security was deployed at all metro station to ensure people followed all Covid preventive norms. Special posters have been put up inside coaches and on station premises to raise awareness, besides regular announcements on safety norms. In Delhi, the first trains left from Samaypur Badli station to HUDA City Centre station. Other metro lines will also be made operational in the capital over the next five days, said DMRC officials.
