Nicole morrison: okay.

Aundrea self: so talk to me a little bit about what you do.

Nicole morrison: well, we actually go in homes and take care of the elderly and disabled individuals.

We do work on medicaid waiver, therefore we kind of cater to those that can't afford it.

That's where our benefits come from.

We don't ever ask for money from the client.

We just go in and we help them keep their home clean, and give them baths, and make sure they take their medicine so they're the most comfortable they'll able be, which is in their home.

Aundrea self: this can be a really big help to a family who maybe has someone disabled, or an elderly family member, and they work.

So, they need this kind of service.

Nicole morrison: absolutely, and it benefits the family on a whole.

Aundrea self: when people need services from morrison family, what do they need to do?

Nicole morrison: well, they can call up here to morrison's family services, or they can through their district.

It's their planning and development district.

Every area has one, and they actually have the elderly and disabled waiver programs. aundrea self: is the process very difficult to get started?

How long after i call can i expect to be set up with someone who could come and help my family member?

Nicole morrison: well, it depends.

I know down in the jackson area they're on a wait list, but up here in north mississippi, it's kind of two to three months.

We try to get that process going a little further by contacting and talking with the case workers.

Aundrea self: all right, well again congratulations to you.

Obviously, you're doing a wonderful job, and the families that you are servicing now are happy with the work of morrison family services.

Yeah, so we offer home security whether it be for the home, business, anything from smart home systems down to just a basic alarm system.

We do our monitoring, we do camera systems, life safety with whether it be smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, anything like that.

You can order something on the internet.

You can set up a camera, and you can use it on your phone.

Talk about really the advantage of using a company that's monitoring you and monitoring your home or your business when you can't.

Shawn stone: yeah, well i think the most important thing is a lot of those things that you can get online, i would say from amazon or whatever, are devices that we use or we've encrypted, meaning they're safe to use, they're not hackable if you will.

So, people feel safer with those types of devices, and you can read a lot of reviews with a lot of the devices you get online.

More times than not, you'll steer towards a local company that you trust.

Aundrea self: finally, i know you all are planning some open house events later coming up in june, right?

Sean stone: yeah, so later on in june... we never had an open house or a grand opening, so later in june we're planning on giving that.

Well, we offer all of your basic financial institution services: checking, savings.

We have credit cards.

We have our loan program, our mortgages.

Basically, everything that you can find at any financial institution.

But i like to think that what sets us apart here is our customer service.

We really strive to put our customers, or we call them members, put our members first and make sure that they are taken care of.

I think that's maybe the thing that makes us a little special here.

Aundrea self: you say that it's a great time to buy a house now.

Kimberly guyton: it is.

It is.

The best time to buy a house or to refinance an existing mortgage is always when you're ready, but aside from that, right now just the environment that we're in as far as mortgage rates, rates are near historic lows.

Particularly here with triangle, one of the advantages to financing with us is that we are entirely local.

We do everything from beginning to end.

We service our own mortgages.

We do everything in house.

So, if you're looking for a local company to work with, we can certainly do that.

That does allow us to do things a little faster, so right now our turn time on an in house mortgage is about three weeks, which is pretty good.

Aundrea self: kimberly, who can join?

Kimberly guyton: right now, if you live, work, worship or go to school in the golden triangle area, and that includes counties of or , and oktibbeha, if you're in any of those three counties, either living, working, worshiping or going to school, you're eligible for membership.

In the past, we were columbus air force base federal credit union, and have over the years opened up to others until now.

We are open to all three counties.
