Coronavirus reopening rayce hardy-intro-2 as the economic dial takes a dramatic turn forward today, major sectors of our economy are reopening.

As that happens though, there are a lot of questions.

That's why kimt news three's george mallet spent some time talking with an economic expert about what's next.

Rayce hardy-bmintro-2 rayce hardy-bmintro-3 katie i've spent a lot of time quoting dr.brian mcdonough of late.

As you all know---- the doctors are encouraging us to take reopening slow.

I spoke to economics instructor rayce hardy about the best practices going forward.

Rayce hardy-pkg-1 lowerthird2line coronavirus:rayce hardy economist i'm hoping that people don't leap in when things reopen i hope they step back in.

Rayce hardy-pkg-3 economics expert race hardy is encouraging us to take it slow as we reopen, but he remains disappointed restauranteurs won't be able to have any indoor dining.

I expected last week, the governor to say that indoor dining would be allowed and i think that hundreds of restaurants, probably more than hundreds of restaurants took measures to do that.

Now i'm not a hundred percent sure they were the right measures but they took measures, what they thought was the way to get back with some occupancy, whether it be twenty five percent or fifty percent occupancy and then when that psychologicall y, i think they anticipated it because everywhere around us, north dakota, south dakota, iowa, wisconsin, it was back to indoor dining.

Hardy isn't just an economist--- he pays attention south dakota, iowa, wisconsin, it was back to indoor dining.

Hardy isn't just an economist--- he pays attention to science--- and says if there were to be a resurgence of the virus--- it could deal another disastrous blow to our economy.

I think for the most part at least in minnesota the majority of people really honored the closer, the closures across the state in general i just don't feel that that's going to be the case a second time so i hope and pray we do not have a resurgence but science says if you don't do what you're supposed to do against a virus, the virus comes back, so which brings us back to hardy's belief that we need to ease back into a fully functioning economy----- he's less concerned about the supply they have people, extremely talented and experienced people working on those supply chains, so i'm not really concerned about that.

My concern is the general public and its demand side that they don't just leap in and start spending money indiscriminately purchasing things they don't need first of all and getting themselves into debt once again, but also the method that they purchase that they take that cautiously rayce hardy-bmtag-2 rayce hardy-bmtag-3 one of the things rayce is particularly concerned about is the overwhelming amount of debt we as individuals carry---- but he's also concerned about the debt carried by businesses.

It is a balancing act, because so much of our economy is dependent on our collective excess.

Thanks george.
