Three local athletes committed to play football at four-year universities.

Three local athletes have signed on to take their talents to the next level this upcoming season.

Action news sports director vanessa romo talked with them.

Vanessa, what are they saying about their decision.

Sports has been gone for awhile and its safe to say they're excited to have signed on and are just itching to play for their new school.

From cross town rivals--- to teammates at butte college& the experiences i had here are unforgettable and it just really made me into the man i am now and prepared me for this kind of moment& cliff jackson, saloman navarro and cameron alfaro have all committed to play at a university this fall& football, aw man& football means so much man& football has done so much for me and has taught so much to me throughout the years& ive been at it since 8 years old& its taught me how to work for what i want& whether it's the starting spot, touchdown& or a dream& ive been dreaming of this since i was a little kid& now that it's finally here..

It seems so surreal and i can't believe i actually did this& but i can say it i did it on my own alfaro will head to colorado mesa university as a free safety& jackson as a corner at midwestern state university and navarro --- not too far--- san jose state as a tight end& all--- thanking butte college for the opportunity& ju-co sports in general just give kids another opportunity and another chance to fulfill their dreams and carry on what they love& butte college has yet to make a decision on whether to resume athletics this season due to safety concerns.

And from experience& these roadrunners believe the decision can make a difference in someone's future.

It was everything& basically coming out of high school my size wasn't ready, mentally i wasn't ready and butte was huge stepping stone to getting where i needed to be both on and off the field& luckily, they got that opportunity the former roadrunners are set to leave by the end of the month.
