In late August, dozens of birds fell from the sky at the White Sands Missile Range and White Sands National Monument, both in southern New Mexico. Since then, Colorado, Texas, Arizona, and Nebraska residents have seen dead creatures scattered along hiking paths, golf courses, and even in driveways. Finches, flycatchers, swallows, warblers, and bluebirds are among the species that have been reported.
A sobering new report from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggests suicide rates for children and young adults are still on the rise. The sobering new report reveals Alaska had the highest youth suicide rate, followed by South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, and New Mexico.

Hand sanitizer is everywhere and is useful for cleaning the hands during the coronavirus pandemic. However, it is not safe to swallow. "Alcohol-based hand sanitizer products should never be ingested," the CDC said. A CDC team described the cases of 15 adults in Arizona and New Mexico who have been hospitalized.
