Lexington police and e-m-s were busy all morning and most of the afternoon... dealing with two fatal crashes... less than four hours apart.

The first crash was on leestown road this morning around seven.

The fayette county coroner says 50- year-old tammy botkin died.

According to police, the other single- vehicle wreck happened just before eleven, on west new circle road..

Near the harrodsburg exit.... this one killing a 38-year old woman.

At leestown, police say an s-u-v speeding..

T-boned a car coming out of the kroger... and the car caught fire.

The driver of the s- u-v tried to run..

Police say the 34- year-old man was arrested and taken to a hospital.

Police say when he leaves the hospital..

He will be charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

According to police, a single-vehicle wreck happened just before eleven, on west new circle road..

Near the harrodsburg exit.

Police say an s-u-v flipped several times in the median... a 38-year-old woman was ejected from the car and died..

Police say the male driver was fine..

He was wearing a seat belt.
