Trash Pandas Focus On Safety Ahead Of Events

WAAY 31's Ashley Carter joined live from Toyota Field after finding out how they will keep everyone safe this holiday weekend.

This holiday weekend.

Ashley?

As excited as they were to be able to host these events for the community this weekend...the spokesperson for the rocket city trash pandas told me safety comes first.

The team wants to provide a fun and safe environment for their guests.

Josh caray, rocket city trash pandas: "we're taking all the cdc precautions, we're going to have all of our staff members wearing masks,we're going to be taking the temperatures of people as they enter the stadium, we're going to be staying at 50% capacity as well."

Those are just a few important coronavirus safety measures josh carrie says the trash pandas implemented for their block party and fourth of july fireworks.

Saturday will also inflatable ...food trucks and live music.

Josh caray, rocket city trash pandas: "people are looking for an outlet and at the end of the day people are still looking to get out and still have a good time, we are very sensitive and very aware.

We do want to encourage people to be safe and to be smart."

Carrie hopes these events can give people a little fun and take a few minutes away from going coronavirus crazy.

Josh caray, rocket city trash pandas: "there's something for the kids, it's a family friendly atmosphere, it's something to do, it's something to get out the house and have that good vibe when you leave the ballpark."

<vo "doing what we need to do as an organization and we're still taking precautions necessary for people to remain safe and do what they need to do."

> they aren't requiring guests to wear masks at tonight or tomorrow's event but carrie says they are strongly encouraging it.
