The SOU Men's Basketball squad added three more players to the 2020-21 class on Wednesday.

12 at 11, you will see the lightning bolt hit and see how the officer was able to escape.

[take pkg] çááápkgáááñ the southern oregon raiders bolstering up their roster to start july with new recruits.

As the men's basketball coach josh mcdermott says, these hybrid type players help the raiders hold onto a tradition of having big guards that can score or pass out of the floor.

But these three each carry their own unique style.

I talked to mcdermott this last week about all three.

Lets start with elijah jackson.

A 6 foot guard out of fallon nevada.

This electigying high flyer is also one of the most clutch guys on the floor.

In fact, he hit the game winning three pointer at the buzzer in the state title in two consecutive years.

At churchill county high, jackson's senior season was pretty good for high school.

20 points, four assists, four rebounds, and three steals per game.

<"the crazy thing is, they list his verticle jump at 50.

Now, that would be hard to believe.

But if it is 40 you are still doing okay there.

He gets up and it changes how he his able to finish inside."

Coach mcdermott tells me jackson will have a significant role and quickly this upcoming year.

Coach says he even has a chance at making the starting lineup.

The other two may not have as large of a role as jackson but they are still big time none the less.

In fact, big is probably the key word there.

That inlcudes a 6 foot 5 mason whitaker who is also from nevada.

Whitaker comes from spanish springs high.

What he mainly did there was win.

He was a part of four league championship teams. he was also the northern nevada player of the year.

The kid can shoot.

That is all you need to know.

During his senior year, he shot 40 percent from downtown.

"he is a legit 6'5.

Pretty long and he is also a legit point guard.

He can play that position it is not just like you are just putting him there and hoping he can play it.

He has played point for a long time.

He is an all around great passer and just a really good player.

So year, excited about that."

Last but certainly not least, the regional kid.

Joe juhala is coming from west linn oregon.

He is a mean 6 foot 8 and as productive as the big gus come.

In his senior year he averages around 9 points and 6 rebounds a game.

But he comes from a program that breeds big time players.

He may take a little longer to develope, but coach mcdermott has big plans for him.

"the good news is for him is that he is really athletic.

He can move really well he can jump really well.

So that is a nice start.

He does not really have a high school body.

He is a little bit, he has got big shoulders and big legs.

He can make space inside."

Whatever the case may be with their roles next year, their signings give the raiders a little time to breathe.

Before the coronavirus pandemic took its grip on the sports seasons, the raiders had not made any singings yet.

The pandemic froze recruiing visits,
