Around 40 police personnel of Chennai have donate blood for the plasma therapy for COVID-19 treatment at Chennai's Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital. Chennai Police Commissioner, Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal said, "Other personnel who have recovered from COVID19 also willing to donate plasma." State Health Minister, Dr C Vijayabaskar was also present during the noble work.
Joe Biden, the Presidential candidate, has picked India-origin Kamala Harris as his running mate for the elections. Biden announced the news on Tuesday. Harris is a daughter of Indian and American immigrants. Announcing the news, Biden said Harris is one of the country’s finest public servants. Harris is the first Asian-American on a major presidential ticket. Harris herself was a presidential aspirant until last year before she dropped out of the race because of lack of popular support. She is also the first African American of a major party and only the third woman yet to run for that office, after Democrat Geraldine Ferraro and Republican Sarah Palin. The 55-year-old first time senator from California is the daughter of Indian mother from Chennai, Shyamala Gopalan Harris, a cancer researcher who passed away in 2009, and Jamaican father, Donald Harris, who teaches at Stanford University. The parents separated when Harris and her younger sister Maya Harris were still very young.

DMK MP Kanimozhi has said that a CISF officer at the Chennai airport asked her if she was Indian, when she could not speak Hindi. The DMK MP said that they were going through security checking when she requested a CISF official to speak in Tamil or English since she did not understand Hindi. The DMK MP said that the officer then asked if she Indian at all and questioned since when is being Indian equal to knowing Hindi. The DMK MP's complaint led to the CISF ordering a probe into the incident. The DMK MP further said that the beauty of the country lies in its diversity and inclusiveness and condemned the incident. Meanwhile, former Union Minister and Congress leader P Chidambaram also came out in support of Kanimozhi and said that such incidents are not unusual. He added that he had faced similar incidents in the past. 'If the Central government is genuinely committed to both Hindi and English being the official languages of India, it must insist that all central government employees are bilingual in Hindi and English,' said Chidambaram. Greater Chennai Corporation organised a Community Intervention Program (COVID-19 IEC event) bike rally to aware people about wearing masks and following social distancing norms. The event was organised with Gold Heart Foundation. GCC commissioner Prakash flagged off the bike rally from Ripon building. More than 150 bikers participated in the awareness campaign. Tamil Nadu has 47,785 active cases and recorded 2,315 deaths till now.

The river Sutlej, which originates from Mansarovar Lake in Tibet, flows through Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. The mayor of Ludhiana City, Balkar Singh Sidhu informed, "Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, himself watching out the cleaning project of Buddha Nullah water body. I hope, it will become the old and clean water body again as it was earlier."
