This saturday they are holding a school supply drive at the christian life center on verot school road from 10-2...news 1's leigha mcneil explains why supplies are especially important for these kids.

With the need for supplies streching across acadiana...executive director heather duhon says they need the communities support..."we know w're not gonna be able to meet all of the need for each and every item that our families might have it w're hoping to be able to supply the basics."

Being that we are in the middle of a pandemic...heather says they are taking donations of ppe too "we are we have a supply of masks available and if we are able to build that supply so that we have those available for our kiddos that would be great."

Both shalya and heather agree the need for these supplies is great...so whatever you can bring is apperciated."as a foster parent you see the needs and then to be able to be on the other side of giving those need to be able to meet those needs it feels really good."
