This is the moment a vigilant security officer saved a passenger after he slipped while alighting a moving train in western India's Maharashtra.

The incident, captured on CCTV cameras and sourced with permission from Kalyan Railway Station's Railway Protection Force Control Room, took place on July 28 at the Kalyan station.

Footage shows Dilip Mandge, aged 52, trying to alight the train, but his hands became stuck and unable to let go, he almost falls on the tracks.

Local reports said Mangde only received minor injuries and mistakingly boarded the Pawan Express, causing him to risk his life and alight the moving train.
