Though wearing masks, concert-goers were seated in densely-packed seating to view a cellist and pianist performing.
Elsewhere in Nice, there was little social distancing in the jam-packed Old Town where restaurants and cafes were busy with holidaymakers.
It comes as France confirmed nearly 1,400 new COVID-19 cases for the second day running on Thursday, a level unseen since the end of June.
The country's hospitals also reported a rise in the number of people in intensive care for the first time in 16 weeks.
