TikTok users are freaking out after discovering the 'world islands' in Dubai

Hundreds of TikTok users are freaking out after discovering a “creepy” location they previously knew nothing about. The online “conspiracy” began with a user named Alysia Thomas. In a video from April, Thomas uses Snapchat’s Snapmap feature to explore the globe, before zooming in on Dubai. The TikToker was shocked to find that, just off the city’s coast, there’s a group of islands shaped exactly like a world map.Of course, there’s a perfectly good explanation for her “creepy” findings. The World Islands, constructed starting in 2003, is a collection of more than 300 private luxury islands. Each island is totally artificial and can sell for anywhere between $7 million and $1.8 billion
