Utica stolen car victim speaks out

Utica woman who came out of a gas station to find someone in her car says that man whole stole her car tried to run her over.

While stealinghere spoke exclusively today to news channel two's gary liberatore.

None "well this is one crazy seen this woman described to me.

She said she was inside the convenient store here at the nice and easy gas station on whitesboro street when all of a sudden she saw someone in her vehicle when she came outside.

She approach the guy in the car, actually right at the doorway, the guy started to takeoff she grabbed another door fell to the ground and was actually drag a little ways before she says even tried to back into her."

This is samantha drake's rental car.... her car has been impounded since someone stole it and took several police agencies on an extended high speed chase back on july 23rd that ultimately ended way up in hamilton county....86 miles away...after the driver ran into two sheriff's cars.

Samantha says the whole ordeal began at the nice n easy on whitesboro street.

She says was inside the store here when she came out and a man was inside her car... tc : 57:48 "what are you doing why are you in my car and he said players get played you got to play the game and he pumped it in reverse, i was in the door and him and he just he ran me over not be on the ground drag me a little and then he pull forward try to back over me and he drove away."

Samantha says she suffered cuts and bruises and an injury to her back.

And now has to pay for all of the damage to her vehicle.

Police say the suspect 29 year old eric baker of pittsford, a suburb of rochester... was being treated at the mcpike addiction treatment center on court street in utica and left involuntarily before getting into samantha drake's car.

Police say baker told them....all he wanted to do was go to saranac lake and swim.

Now he's facing numerous charges for stealing a vehicle and fleeing from police.
