This bond of religious harmony was recently visible during the celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi and Muharram that brought different communities together at various parts of the country.
The immersion of Lord Ganesha idols, marking the conclusion of 11-day long Vinayaka Chaturthi festivities, was held here on Tuesday with participants wearing masks and following social distancing norms for COVID-19. With the pandemic casting its grim shadow, Mumbai witnessed a much quieter Anant Chaturdashi, which marks the end of the 11-day Ganesh festival, on Tuesday. Idols were immersed in the sea, lakes as well as artificial ponds built by the municipal corporation. More than 35,000 police personnel were deployed across the city. The police also monitored the streets and beaches with the help of about 5,000 CCTV cameras. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, former CM Devendra Fadnavis were seen immersing idols.

Ankita shared many videos of rituals by the mother-daughter duo. Earlier on Ganesh Chaturthi, Ankita had shared a glimpse of her Ganpati. On August 22, Ankita had joined ex-boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput's sister Shweta Singh Kirti's call for global prayer. Last month, Ankita was questioned by Bihar Police in Mumbai in Sushant's death case. Reports had also emerged that Ankita's flat's EMI was deducted from Sushant’s account. Slamming claims, Ankita had shared details of flat registration and EMIs.

Several areas in Madhya Pradesh have been hit by floods due to heavy downpour. The Indian Air Force deployed choppers to airlift people from flood-hit Chhindwara in MP. IAF personnel were seen rappelling from an Mi-17 chopper for rescue. Over 9,000 people have been moved to relief camps in MP so far. A similar heroic rescue was carried out in n MP's Balaghat. 2 youths and an elderly person were rescued by IAF personnel. Even Madhya Pradesh's capital Bhopal struggled amid heavy rain. Over 125 people have died in MP due to rain & flood in MP this monsoon. MP CM Shivraj Chouhan commented on the situation. He said, “This morning, I briefed the Prime Minister regarding the current situation. We are receiving his loving support and blessings. I am happy that rescue operations were conducted throughout the night. All 5 people in Sehore's Narela were rescued at 2:30 at night. Shajapur, Devas... There are some problems but there is no need to worry because our personnel of SDRF are deployed. Wherever needed, we'll take the Army's help. We won't allow loss of life in any part of the state. My appeal is that people shouldn't be stubborn when the administration tries to evacuate them.”
