Sports amid the coronavirus pandemic ..

Here in west lafayette, purdue football ..

Men's and women's cross country ..

Women's soccer and volleyball will not play this fall.

There's a chance ..

Competition will take place in the spring ..

But there are obviously no guarantees ..

The pac-12 also called off its fall sports season today ..

Less than a week ago ..

The big ten released its football schedule for the upcoming year..

But at this juncture ..

With the uncertainty of the virus ..

The conference not taking any chances ..

Jeff brohm and the boilers are very disappointed with the news.

Brohm sensed it was coming last saturday after the big ten instructed teams to continue practicing in helmets and shorts.

However, brohm felt the conference should have waited a little bit longer before making a move.

Jeff brohm: my personal opinion was to have multiple plans ready and that was worst case scenario let's get the spring plan ready.

When the s-e-c backed it up to september 26 i thought we should have as well because it would allow us more time ..

A few weeks to gather more informationand maybe more testing kits and protocols that we can adjust from, see how it reacts when people get on campus so i do think that hurt us that we didn't do that and unfortunately the big ten had to do what it had to do but yes i think it hurt us and i would have prefered if we scooted the season back.
