India's biggest 1500 megawatt (MW) power project got shut due to flood-like situation in Himachal Pradesh's Shimla.

Nathpa-Jhakri is the largest hydropower project on the Sutlej River in northern India.

It got shut in the morning on August 12 at around 07:30 am.

The silt level at the Nathpa-Jhakri power project had increased from 5000 PPM (Parts Per Million) to 33,000 PPM due to the flood-like situation in the tributaries of Sutlaj River.
