Dinkel.

It's friday, august 14th.

Let's get right into our breaking sports news.

Sports director "rick semmler" is live.

We learned this afternoon..

The missouri valley conference has postponed all fall sports.

Rick... /////// /////// its going to be quiet at places like memorial stadium and other isu athletic facilites over the next several months.... the missouri valley conference announced friday they've postponed the fall athletic season... this means no fall season for indiana state cross country, women's golf, women's soccer, and women's volleyball due to the coronavirus pandemic... just like for isu football, the mvc has said its possible fall sports could play in the spring... the conference did say during the fall they will allow student-athletes and teams to practice, do strength and conditioning and have team meetings.... i reached out to isu athletic director sherard clinkscales on financially what this means to isu having now the spring athletic season cut short and no fall season.... he had this to say quote...we have been impacted financially just like every other division one institution.

We anticipated this challenge and had already put into place some cost svaing measures.

The university under the leadership of president curtis and stewardship of cfo diann mckee have allowed us to be ready to compete despite the challenges... however as we move forward we will need the support of all isu alumni and fans to offset the costs brought on by this virus" end quote... //////// today's decision by the m-v-c does not impact winter and spring sports..

They all remain scheduled at this time.

I also want to mention....i did reach out to isu athletics who said they are not allowing any coaches, players or athletic adminstrators to talk at this time.... reporting *live*..

Rick semmler..
