They're running out in chaos and you have to help."

In the facebook post showing her photo...her friend, newell, goes on to say this is typical of the type of person she is....someonee loving and caring, but also strong and courageous as she helps protect the city of lexington.

### lexington police are investigating another homicide.... this one leaving a 32-year-old man dead.

Police say they were called to a home in the 15- hundred block on lindy lane monday afternoon after a man was found unresponsive.

The coroner has identified the man as 32-year-old aaron leach.

One neighbor says that crime isn't something that happens often in this neighborhood... and its typically very peaceful.

Neither the coroner nor police have released details on how leach died or a possible cause of death.

Police are asking if you have any information about this, please contact the department.

To laurel county now.... where investigators are trying to determine how man found in the woods died.

The laurel county sheriff's office says the mans body was found late this morning off ponderose drive about two miles west of london.

Deputies say there is no apparent cause of death.... and the body was taken for an autopsy... which they say will take place tomorrow.

A contact tracer basically becomes an investigator.

When the health department confirms a case, a contact tracer goes to work finding out who else might've been exposed... carter"we'll say that you've came in contact with someone that's tested positive, what you need to do to protect your own health and then what you need to do to protect your loved ones."

Christy"contact tracers will call you and ask questions about your health, where you've been, and who you've met."

It's a important call that people must take seriously.

"when they get that call their mind immediately goes to oh i'm gonna have to miss work or are they gonna separate me from my children."

Health officials say tracers are reaching about 70 percent of people...and most people cooperate.

The biggest issue is dealing with clusters like nursing homes, factories and businesses.

"and how do you work with them, and ya know balance the need to maintain privacy with the need to inform."

Kentucky has 1,075 tracers..

And may add 250 more.

It's not easy ... calling, waiting for call backs, paperwork on dozens of cases... but it's making the health system much better in the long run.

"we'll have a single system in place when this is all said and done that's been focused on covid but can be used for any kind of contact tracing."

Carter says contact tracing is just one piece of the public health response..

And people still need to do their part by wearing masks, distancing, and complying with tracers.

The state says it's also working on an online platform to make the contact tracing process easier.

A grand jury has charged a kentucky inmate accused of sending a note he said contained anthrax to former governor matt bevin.

Federal prosecutors say a man has pleaded guilty to stealing money from women in a romance scam.

&lt;none&gt; &lt;none&gt; according to prosecutors... ismaila fafunmi.... a nigerian national living in indianapolis.... would chat with women through dating websites and lead them to believe they were in a relationship... often with military members... and get them to send money.

Prosecutors say that included two women from kentucky... one sending more than $200,000 to fafunmi and his co- conspirators.

Fafunmi is scheduled to be sentenced in november.

The plan calls for the city to partner with eight non- profits on managing applications for up to $4,000 in rent or moving help per family.

That comes on top of a separate program started last week for up to 25 hundred for families in the service industry impacted by the coronavirus outbreak.

The system is designed to prevent people from double-dipping with local programs or the state program.

It also involves landlords directly.

According to the city... there are already more than 2,000 names on the list.

The full council is expected to act thursday.

The city is also getting ready to wrap up its small business stimulus program.... but there could be a round two.

Commerce lexington's access loan program has approved more than two-million-100- thousand dollars in grants to 151 businesses in fayette county over the last five weeks.

Commerce lexington says... of the grants that have bee approved, 30 percent are owed by minorities and 36 percent are owned by women.

The groups says 235 businesses applied for funds and there is about $180,000 left to give out.

The program was established early last month to help businesses hit hard by the coronavirus outbreak and is funded with money from the city and the federal cares act coronavirus relief funds.

This afternoon police chief lawrence weathers providing some insight into the response efforts.

That's tonight's top story at six.

Weathers took the time to say he's proud of the response officers made and thanked other agencies that helped in the investigation...sayi ng it truly took a team.

The shooting sunday happening at around four o'clock....and according to police it took nearly five hours to do a complete sweep of the mall.

Xavier hardin...a 19-year-old...faces charges for murder and assault.

We asked chief weathers about recent teen gun violence and what he would say to young people right now about this spike in teen deaths.
