Fire crews were called to the scene of the Charlestown fire again following a 911 call.

Utica fire said a Masonic employee saw some smoke and flames coming from the wreckage.

This afternoon a portion of bleecker street was shut down to allow fire crews to continue to put out hotspots.

News channel 2's brent kearney has been following this from the start....he has the story.

"the new tally for how much water has been used to extinguish the fire is now up to 5.5 million gallons of water."

As fire crews continue to spray down the building to prevent it from reigniting.

None "we wanna make sure we spray down all of our hotspots to make sure we dont have to come back."

This morning, the utica fire department responded to a 911 call from a masonic care employee saying she saw smoke and fire coming from the building.

"its something that we have to deal with with this type of structure as far as this type of collapse.

Pockets of area in the collapse where we have smoldering debris where we are going to have to continuously be here.

Who knows we could even be here into tomorrow."

Securing the building to make sure know one goes inside is also on the minds of fire fighters.

"the integrity of this whole complex is gone.

So somebody can get in there.

This building can come down on them and unfortunately they're going to lose their lives in there."

The chief says herkimer county 911 has recieved a number of call from people driving past the wreckage and seeing what looks to be smoke.

But the fire department is asking unless you see flames coming from the wreckage dont call 911 "passerbys need to understand that we're aware of what's going on with the building and they dont have to call 911 everytime they see what they think is smoke.

You have hheat underneath and its cold at night.

Steam looks like smoke and you get somebody driving by, they call 911.

Then you get the fire department out here and it turns out to be just the steam."

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
