The Red Cross had their 3rd annual blood drive at Common Block Brewery.

People who donated their blood were able to have an antibody test for Covid-19.

If they can't agree on a the drive is giving people the opportunity to donate their blood and possibly find out if they have covid-19 antibodies.

Newswatch 12's brett taylor joins us live to discuss how people can find out if they have covid-19 antibodies from giving blood.

Brian from what the christina martin says, who is the account manager for red cross blood services, people will only find out if they have the antibodies if they take the initiative.

Now she also told me that she doesn't want people to donate blood just to find out if you have or had covid-19.

If you do decide to donate blood although, she says that after the donation it could take 7 to 10 days before you find out if you have the antibodies.

"they are not being notified its going into their app or their donor record.

We dont have the resources to contact every donor.

So its really just up to them to find their result."

Martin also said that the only people who will know if a donor has covid-19 antibodies is the red cross and the donor.
