Its this can happen anywheremckinley said his passion was in law enforcement.his first job right here behind me.but he says from almost day one... he says he was unfairly treated based on his skin color.

It came from indvs that i wore same uniform as in the department i felt that immediatelyterrance mckinney said from day one... he was treated different.think about that relevance here we are in 2013 and this county has never had an af am as a full time officerthe fort wayne native graduated from northside high school... and found a place as a deputy in whitley county.he said it was a 'natural fit' after his time in the military... but as the first black deputy in the departments history... was met with obstacles.knew that there was racial bias almost within first 15 to 30 dayshe was fired after less than a year with the department.

The department and then sheriff mark hodges listing three reasons for mckinneys departure a 20-17 decision by the united states court of appeals, seventh circuit.said the reasons 'fell apart in the face of evidence.later they would provide more allegations... which the seventh circuit would again say they held 'no water.'this after a district court felt the discrimination lawsuit filed by mckinney had no merit to it.

Mckinney says even though the two sides were able to settle... he wants to see more come from itthere insurance company cut a check and that was ab it those people are still in those positionseven with a new sheriff... he says other indiana departments need to become more inclusive... more understanding and hopes he'll be able to help.i can still use my case and voice and platform to help other people in similar situations reporting live ... ?????????
