High School Highlight Reel: 9-11-20

LEXINGTON, Ky (WTVQ) - After being forced to wait and the season being in limbo, on Friday the Kentucky high school football season finally kicked off.

There were tons of great games the High School Highlight Reel Game of the Week between Frederick Douglass and North Hardin delivered!

C1 3 weren't sure if tonight was going to happen, but here we are..the first friday night of high school football in kentucky.

It's like christmas...but instead of santa and gifts...we get football.

Great games to go with it...boyle and mercer...harrison and bourbon in a rivalry game...and our game of the week with douglass and north hardin.

Welcome in to the high school highlight reel.

I'm bryan kennedy c1 3 and this is austin miller.

Week one...it's a little later than usual but trust us...we will take it!

Our game of the week between frederick douglass and north hardin.

The broncos with two future wildcats in jager burton and dekel crowdus.

The trojans with jordan lovett and lavell wright.

The clash of these teams who both nearly went undefeated last season....your game of the week.

Pick itup late second...douglass trialing 6-2 darius neal with the 10 yard run for the touchdown.

Two point conversation makes it 10-6 douglass.

The pass to camron smith six yards for the score.

13-10 north hardin at the half.

Field goal with under 6 to go in the game makes it 16-10 trojans darius neal with the rock again...a workhorse.

Scores from 3 yards out 17-16 douglass.

Time running out...under a minuteleft...the quarterback flips it to lavell wright..a u-k commit he just goes straight crazy...bouncing off guys.

Down to the 8.

Four seconds left...trailing by one...it all comes down to this...kick is up...it's tipped...but still good.

North hardin wins this one 19 to 17.

Huge rivalry game to start the year c1 3 between harrison and bourbon.

2nd half..

Thoroughbred defense trying to light a spark for the offense..

Paul copes scoops up the fumble in bourbon county territory.

But on the ensuing drive..

Snap exchange was a problem tonight..

On 4th and 3..

This one had no shot.

To the 4th,.

Colonels driving..

15 will keep it himself and score the touchdown.

That would make it 20-nothing.

Harrison trying to stay in this..

But this throw won't cut it..

It's picked off by 1..

Bourbon goes on to win 34-14.

Over in georgetown..

Scott county and bryan station.

This was close..

But certainly sloppy..

As to be expected week 1.

Cardinals on 4th down..

Get a piece of the ball on the punt..

That would set them up in good field position.

But they could capilatize.

Then in the redzone..

Penalties would push them back to second and long..

Defenders capitalize..

Ahtraivon jenkins comes up with the pick.

Scott county would find the endzone in the 4th.

That would be the difference..

Anderson county taking on franklin county.

Zach claudio takes a sweep and gets to the corner for a first down next play zach claudio takes the screen and takes the flyers in the red zone then next play gavin hurst punches it in for 6 55 to nothing...anderson in teh route.

C1 3 haddix...who has knocked off the rebels in the playoffs takes over.

Coming to town tonight the mercer county titans.

Out the gate the titans where trying to send a message cole lanter gets smashed by jackson peavler but the rebels came to life will mcdaniel dashes up the middle to get in the red zone then will mcdaniels up middle again punches it in for the rebels first score jagger gillis scrambles and hits coleman clark in the endzone to make it 14-0 rebels rebels win in a blowout...51 to 7 over mercer.

To paris now..

Greyhounds hosting western hills.

Closing minutes of the 1st half..

Gilead galloway finds a hole..

Slips a few tackles..

And runs it in to make it 20-0.

Following a failed onside kick.

Paris is driving..

Chase puckett to marqeis catlett..

That's a first down.

Two plays later..

Chase would like to get back.

Goes down the left side..

Then will cut back to right..

And find pay dirt.

Woodford hosting great crossing.

It was the yellow jackets defense holding up tonight the yellow jackets defense dylan duncan blows up the run game then jeremiah shulze bull dozes his way in and strips the ball for a turnover then preston stacy trying to capotalize gets it up the middle rumbling over defenders then preston stacy makes them pay to give to yellow jacket 35-13 lead woodford wins this one big...35 to 13.

Sayre hosting eminence.

First game of the season...is senior night.

These seniors reviving a program that's been dormant for more than 40 years.

Pick it up first quarter.

Cole pennington to michael madden 46 yards.

Rock the baby!

Spartans end up having to settle for three.

3-0 sayre next drive.

Pennington to jackson marshall for the 23 yard touchdown pass.

10-0 sayre the spartans would come back to win this one 38 to 34!

Big win for sayre.
