Highlights include Calhoun at McCallie, Central at Baylor, East Hamilton at Red Bank.

Welcome to news 12 overtime.

I'm rick nyman.

And i'm angela moryan.

The tennessee-georgia border wall came down this week for a battle of football royalty.

No more social distancing between mccallie and calhoun, as they faced off for the first time ever.

The marquee matchup got the well deserved bright lights and big stage of finley stadium.

What's amazing is this prime time showdown came together just last week.

Both schools were left with an open date because of a cancellation due to the ongoing pandemic.

Too bad we had crowd restrictions for this matchup of football powerhouses.

I mean who wouldn't want to see a game between two teams that produce d-one talent, and have combined to win six state titles.

Calhoun up 14-7 in the second quarter.

William riddle comes in as quarterback and starts shredding the jacket defense.

Receiver kenzy paul pounces in for the 17-yard touchdown.

Extra point wide left.

Calhoun still leads 14-13 at half.

=== first mccallie possession after the break, this happens.

Running back bj harris jukes to the outside for 30 powerful yards.

=== few plays later, riddle throws on the run... what a beaut to receiver eric rivers.

29 yard score makes it 19-14, mccallie's first lead of the game.

=== doesn't last long.

Jackets quarterback christian lewis goes deep.

Reciever cole speer is there --- the mccallie defense isn't... speer legs out a huge 70 yard touchdown.

Jackets go for two.

=== this one's a little tricky.

Receiver will seamons takes the snap in motion, sprints to the corner.

22-19 jackets lead by 3.

=== next series, blue tornado races down the field.

Caps it off with a nice 3-yard harris run.

Could drive a mack truck through that hole.

Five turnovers from calhoun tonight.

Too many to beat the defending state champs.

Mccallie wins 38-22.

Across the river, central the victim of a baylor beat down in big red country.

=== first baylor series, quarterback neyland jean tosses the perfect pass to tight end carson yates.

Remember that name.

7-0 baylor.

=== next raiders series, first play, receiver riley jenne gets open in the slant.

Central's defense no match for the spin move.

He's gone.

47 yard touchdown.

14-0 baylor.

=== red raiders running up the score in the first.

Jean to yates.

Yates does his best heisman move -- powers into the endzone.

28 yard play worth 6.

21-0 baylor.

=== central's offense untarnished until this.

Quarterback evan schwarzl tries to get some yards.

Instead, he loses the ball.

=== baylor turns around and makes quick work of another touchdown.

Boom.

Yates.

Endzone.

I told you to remember his name.

No chance for central tonight.

56-3, the final.

Both teams are undefeated.

However, even beyond that, they have similiar results against the same teams. this year, red bank beat soddy daisy 41-12, and signal mountain 46-8.

East hamilton, on the other hand, beat soddy daisy 31-0, and signal mountain 34-7.

Proff that both these teams are really good, and this showdown should be close.

Lions were without their starting quarterback joseph blackmon.

He was sidelined with a knee injury.

And this is what that big, bad red bank defense did to hurricanes quarterback haynes eller.

They swatted him around a few times.

Third quarter, canes down 27-17, and here comes cam bell.

They call him cam bam as he takes down eller.

But eller is a veteran.

Next play.

Can't throw the ball any better than this.

Right to kaunyae burgans.

He's tripped up around the ten yard line.

Start of the fourth quarter.

Direct snap to jaundrick bullard.

He goes in for the score.

It's now a 27-24 ballgame.

Canes recovered an on-side kick, so they're in business again.

Fourth and long from the lions 22.

Eller to pass, and cam bam feasts on passing down.

Another sack for the talented lions lineman.

Red bank holds on to win it by that 27-24 margin.
