<<the prosecutor's office has released very few details so far.we do know the worth county sheriff's department found melissa chapman's body because they received a tip yesterday.the grant city woman and mother of three was reported missing in late august.she was last seen in mount ayr, iowa on august 23rd.

The iowa-missouri border city is where authorities found her van and cell phone abandoned.

Last week friends and family held a vigil in grant city to get the word out about chapman's disappearance.one of her longtime friends told kq2 that chapman was in an abusive relationship before she went missing -- and was set to testify against her abuser in an upcoming criminal case.on cam: the prosecutor says the homicide investigation is still ongoing, no charges have been filed, and no further details would be released.
