Starkville SMART buses strive for safe rides

SMART Transportation in Starkville works to create a safe riding environment for passengers amidst the pandemic.

Normally, riding the bus is one of the most efficient and effective ways for students to get across campus; smart transit service manager larry graves says however students now hesitate to use the system this year because of the coronavirus.

Smart transit graves says the bus system is doing what it can to keep its passengers safe.

Larry graves - transits service manager for smart "the capacity of bus normally would be 32 for a large bus and 18 for a smaller bus and we've put that in half to create social distancing on the buses."

Smart workers also sanitize each bus twice a day... putting extra close attention on highly touched areas.
