The City of Huntsville school system will create the teachers advisory council for teachers to share their thoughts on what it's like in the classroom during a pandemic

Don't feel represented by the district.

Waay 31's grace campbell joins us live from the central office with a timeline of when the council will be created.

A spokesman with the district says the teachers advisory council will be created within the next few weeks to allow teachers to share their thoughts about what it's like in the classroom.

At last's night board of education meeting, teachers said they don't feel the district is taking their opinions into account when it comes making decisions about how to keep students and faculty safe this school year.

The district hopes the teacher advisory council will address their concerns.

To assess their feedback on how their experience has been with students returning to school buildings.

There's a lot of decisions being made about the classroom and it affects a lot of teachers in different ways and it would be nice if we were consulted more often.

Teachers say they hope to see some changes soon.

The district is also creating a survey for teachers as a way for them to also provide feedback.
