US Sheriffs have released video footage of a shooting involving a suspect who pointed a gun at them that turned out to be a toy.Sacramento County Sheriffs were called to an address in the City of Rancho Cordova, California, where four officers shot the 22-year-old Latino suspect, Miguel Hernandez, after he ran away from them at around 7:10pm, Saturday, 5th September.According to the sheriff's 18th September statement, a 911 caller "indicated the male (suspect) appeared to have what he described as a toy gun in his waistband".The toy gun turned out to be "an ignition timing gun that had been altered to look identical to a firearm", according to the sheriff's statement.The topless suspect disobeyed the first attending deputies commands and instead lay down on the ground.He then stood up "all of a sudden" and ran away, pointing "a black object" at them that they thought was a firearm.The deputies called in backup and pursued the man around the corner of a nearby business and into the parking lot, firing one round at him that missed after he pointed the toy at them.
