Brindisi introduces Bianca's Law

Congressman Anthony Brindisi has introduced a law to curb the spread of graphic content on social media, after photos of a slain Utica teen were shared online after her death.

Kristen good evening... congressman brindisi joined the family of the late bianca devins to announce new legislation to curb violent and graphic social media content.

Devins was killed in july of 2019..

And in the days and weeks following her death... gruesome pictures of her body were spread on facebook.

Biancas law would increase transparency and accountability for major social media platforms and ensure they take action when violent content policies are violated.

It would also empower the federal trade commission and state attorneys general to impose penalties on the social media companies if they do not comply and it would give social media companies an incentive to moderate their content by allowing for public-facing accountability.

As for bianca devins accused murdered brandon clark...he is due in court tomorrow for a brief appearance.

The prosecution will file their answer to clark's motion to withdraw his guilty plea.

If convicted, clark could face 25 years to life in prison.
