Hazel green's football stadium won't be seeing much action the next two weeks -- as the program deals with coronavirus cases.

Tonight -- we know 3 players tested positive and now 15 students are quarantining as madison county schools' navigates the rest of the season.

Waay31's megan reyna joins us live outside the stadium.

She has more on what the district has done to keep these students safe, megan?

Just out of precaution -- this football program is temporarily suspended for the next two weeks.

This will allow players who were in contact with those who tested positive to quarantine and possibly get tested.

Right now only three players have tested positive.

That's out of 70 players who are on either the j-v or varsity teams. madison county schools' spokesperson tim hall said they found out today about these cases.

He said they quickly discovered who had been in contact with these players and sent those students home.

Hall added the district continues to follow the state health department's guidelines and is sanitizing buildings... including the athletic complex regularly.

As far as the impact on the trojans season, there wasn't a game planned for this friday.

But next friday hazel green was supposed to host muscle shoals.

That game will now be forfeited.

So as of right now the plan is for the trojans to return to practice two weeks from now and the next game will be against decatur high on october 9.
