Nothing like a good old cross town rivalry..

West lafayette and lafayette jeff have already battled it out on the football field this season..

Tonight..

The volleyball programs get a shot at each other..

At the crawley center..

Tori woods and the red devils looking to continue their winning ways..

The crawley center a good venue to stay socially distanced for a volleyball match..

Lafayette jeff came out hot and won the first set..

But it was all rdp from there..

Second set woods serving..

That's an ace!

It's set point now for west side..

Guess who..

It's woods again on the return..

We're tied at one set a piece..

To the third we go..

Kendall devault serving..

But the jeff return is long..

So west lafayette stealing the momentum away quickly in this one..

Shari bittles likes what she sees..

In the fourth set jeff trying to claw back..

On the return lauren cox tips it into no mans land..

But it wouldn't be enough..

Match point now for west side..

Sky moffit serving for jeff..

Woods sets it up for rachel williams..

And the sophomore's return finds some space on the other side..

West lafayette wins three sets to one..

This was williams first match back after a few weeks in quarantine..

She brought us inside that experience after the match..

And how it's made her and her team better..

Rachel -- it was tough at first, because i am not used to missing you know half my season, but when i worked out and i realize how much i love volleyball it just made it tens times much more fun.

During quarantine i was just working hard trying to be in shape so when i come back i can play as well as i can and contributing to my teammates.

Shari -- having her back makes a big difference.

I was proud of the girls who stepped in, because they grew through the time that she was out, so she's back in, she's rearing to go, and she has not only encouraged them to get better but she has continued to get better.
