Today... governor andy beshear announced a relaunch of the health insurance program...started in 20-13 by his father... former governor steve beshear.

L3: abc 36 news white kynect relaunched with expanded benefits the program was dismantled during governor matt bevin's administration.

Governor beshear says the program is being expanded and will not only give kentuckians easier access to health care... but other benefits as well.

Those expanded benefits include food assistance... job training and family and childcare assistance programs. governor beshear says he wants to get every kentuckian enrolled in some form of health care coverage.

"healthcare isn't an issue, it is a value and a basic human right.

So even before our commonwealth was hit by the ongoing global crisis, long before it became clear that the fight against covid-19 would be the defining battle of our generation, delivering quality healthcare for all kentuckians was the topline goal of my admisitration."
