HS Cross Country: Castle Boys Win Regional

The cross country state tournament continues today... the top 5 teams and top ten individuals without a team advance to semi- state.

Of the 10 teams participating in the regional..

We have 8 representing our area.

We'll start with the girls race..

And it is a pair of princeton tigers leading the way.

Sophomores heidi and haley meade take first and second..

Heidi finishes in 19 minutes 9 seconds... while haley finishes in 19 minutes 11 seconds..

Just behind them we have a reitz panther and mt.

Vernon wildcat.

Cordelia hoover takes 6th with a time of 19 minutes 55 seconds..

Sophie kloppenburg takes 7th in 19 minutes 56 seconds.

Gibson southern takes third as a team..

Reitz takes 4th and the tigers place 5th.

On the boys side..

Reitz continues to shine..

Alex nolan takes the top spot with a time of 15 minutes 59 seconds..

Behind him are tyler spurling and trevor monroe of castle..

Spurling finishes in 16 minutes... and monroe in 16 minutes 3 seconds..

The knights win the sectional as a team... while reitz takes third..

Central finishes 4th...
