India successfully carried out the final trial of the Nag anti-tank guided missile at the Pokhran field firing ranges in Rajasthan.
The Missile system is now ready for induction into the Indian Army.
As per officials, the missile system will be inducted at locations such as the east Ladakh sector.
Develpoed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the Nag Missile system fired from a Nag Missile Carrier (NAMICA) can take our targets at ranges of 4 to 7 kilometres and is fitted with an advanced seeker to home on to its target.
It has top attack capabilities that can effectively engage and destroy all known enemy tanks during day and night.
The Indian Army on November 25 successfully test-fired the BrahMos missile in the Bay of Bengal. The missile, developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation, hit the designated target at over 250 km with pinpoint accuracy, the Indian Army said. This missile firing was in continuation with earlier launches of the BrahMos missile.
India tested land-attack version of BrahMos missile on November 24. The test was reportedly conducted at Andaman-Nicobar Islands. The missile hit the target successfully which was placed on another island. BrahMos is the world's fastest supersonic cruise missile. India and Russia jointly developed BrahMos. The strike range of BrahMos reportedly enhanced to over 400 km. India seems to be stepping up missile tests amid border tension. India test-fired land attack version of BrahMos supersonic cruise missile on Nov 24 from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands territory. The target of the missile was on another island there. The mission had successfully hit its target. The test was conducted by the Indian Army which has many regiments of the DRDO-developed missile system. The strike range of BrahMos missile has now been enhanced to over 400 km.
In an attempt to make India plastic-free, Indian Railways is now planning to serve tea in Kulhad (earthen cups) at every railway stations across the country, informed Railway Minister Piyush Goyal at an event in Rajasthan's Alwar on November 29. He said, "There're nearly 400 railway stations serving tea in Kulhad (earthen cups). We're making efforts to implement the same across the country as Railways' contribution in making India plastic-free. It'll also generate employment."
COVID-19 tests are being done on passengers arriving from Delhi, Goa, Rajasthan and Gujarat at Pune Railway Station. A doctor said, "Passengers with high temperature are undergoing Rapid Antigen Test; if positive, being shifted to hospital. We are keeping record." The Maharashtra government on November 23 imposed restrictions on travellers who wish to come to the state from heavily coronavirus-afflicted states like Rajasthan, Delhi, Gujarat and Goa. The restrictions are imposed on both rail or air travellers. The travellers have to undergone an RT-PCR test.
A mandatory RT-PCR test rule began in Mumbai from November 25 (Wednesday) amid rising cases of coronavirus pandemic. Travellers from Delhi, Rajasthan, Goa and Gujarat arrived at Mumbai's Dadar Railway Station to undergo mandatory RT-PCR test.
AIMIM Leader Asaduddin Owaisi has lashed out at the BJP over am party leader’s remark on conducting ‘surgical strikes’ in Old Hyderabad to weed out Rohingyas and nationals from Afghanistan and Pakistan. Owaisi challenged the BJP and said that they have 24 hours to name Pakistanis residing in the area. ‘The BJP leader said they will conduct surgical strikes and flush out Pakistanis and Rohingyas. I want to ask BJP on whom you would conduct surgical strikes? These people living in the old city are Indian citizens. I give you 24 hours to tell how many Pakistanis live here?’ Owaisi said. The AIMIM leader also mocked PM Modi and questioned why no ‘surgical strike’ was conducted on the Chinese forces who have taken over Indian territory in Ladakh. Owaisi said that PM Modi does not even name China even though the People’s Liberation Army has transgressed into Indian territory. The war of words comes ahead of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal polls. Earlier, BJP leader Tejasvi Surya had said that Owaisi speaks the language of rabid Islam and likened him to Jinnah. BJP has lashed out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his tweet slamming the Modi government over its handling of the China issue. Rahul had cited a news report which hinted at renewed Chinese activity in Doklam. ‘China's geopolitical strategy cannot be countered by a PR driven media strategy. This simple fact seems to elude the minds of those running GOI,’ Rahul had tweeted. Hitting back, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said that Congress and Rahul Gandhi have no right to speak on the issue and alleged that IF India lost land to China before, it was because of the Congress party. India and China have also been locked in a standoff in Ladakh since May. The Congress leader has attacked the BJP on several occasions over the issue and accused the Prime Minister of lying to the country over the status of the ground situation in the region.
