This morning - 4 city schools will begin remote learning.

Sierra?

The district says the decision to switch a school to remote learning looks at a combination of how many people are in quarantine - how many positive cases there are - and how substitute teachers are available.

Each of the four schools have seen more than a hundred people quarantined within the past 14 days.

Here's a look at the numbers right now.

Goldsmith schiffman has 126 people in quarantine from 7 positive cases.

Ridgecrest has 149 in quarantine from 5 cases.

Columbia high school has 137 in quarantine from 5 cases.

And huntsville high has the most - with 178 in quarantine from 11 cases.

This is the second time in less than a month that columbia high school has had to go to virtual learning.

The district spokesman said their ability to switch back and forth is a sign that their system is working.

But - he said even though they can easily transition to online learning - it's important for parents to stay vigilant as we enter into the holidays.

We are partners with parents and we truly ask parents for their support in making good decisions and making sure we're promoting a safe and healthy learning environment outside the building, so we can have safe students inside the building.

Students from the four schools are set to return to in person learning after the thanksgiving holiday on november 30th.
