Small businesses hoping for strong holiday shopping season

The wabash valley here in the here in the wabash valley many shoppers "braved" the pandemic for those black friday deals.

Gar} "black friday is usually a big day for big retailers across the wabash valley.

This year was also looking good for small businesses here in vincennes."

The parking lot at lowe's was packed full today.

Across the street at rural king was the same story.

Traffic made it's way up and down sixth street.

But not all that traffic was heading to big box stores.

In downtown vincennes the parking spots were full.

Many folks decided to visit the mom and pop shops the day before small business saturday.

That's a good sign for those small businesses.

2020 has been hard on many locally owned shops.

Many have taken advantage of funding to help offset the impact of covid-19.

Now as friday moves to saturday...small businesses are hoping to keep their bottom line in the black.

"it is important this year more than ever before to support our small businesses.

These are the businesses that we go to to support our little league teams or softball teams, to help support our non-profits.

These are the businesses that we turn to everyday."
