The man’s sisters, Tasmiyah Sharif and Fajr Sharif, shared that their brother, 26-year old Muhsin Sharif, needs to be allowed legal representation.

5" we begin tonight with brand new information about monday's officer- involved shooting in eugene.

Thanks for joining us tonight.

I'm matt templeman.

And i'm renee mccullough.

Family have identified the man who was shot and they're demanding his name be made known.

Kezi 9 news reporter kennedy dendy joins us live to tell us what his sisters told us in an exclusive interview.

Matt, renee-they just want more answers.

Family members tell me his name is muhsin sharif and he works in construction... as a flagger.

And he's also a sales rep for his family's business.

They say he was in oregon... to visit the mother of his child.

He's 26 years old and in critical condition at riverbend.

I spoke to his sisters tasmiyah and fajr sharif from their home in pennsylvania.

They say they're trying to find out why their brother has been told he cannot speak or see anyone--and can't have a lawyer.

This all began monday when eugene police responded to a report of domestic violence.

Police say the man had a knife and quickly advanced toward officers.

He was shot, and police say they gave aid and he was taken to the hospital.

"we're trying to figure out why, why are the police not allowing anyone to get in contact with him.

Why are they not being treated period, and are not transparent.

Why are your police officers sitting in front of the door and telling him he cant contact anyone in his family, after we just got out of a surgery."

The lane county district attorney says this involves two investigations.

One into the shooting and one into the domestic violence allegations.

2 officers are still on administrative leave.

Police say there is bodycam video, in- car video and video from a nearby building that will prove sharif was armed with a knife and advanced toward officers before the shooting.

They say the public will get a chance to watch the video once the d-a has reviewed the incident.
