A beloved hemsi holiday tradition - done differently this year because of the coronavirus.

You're taking a look at a socially distanced "reverse parade" put on by hems as they delivered more than 150 gifts to kids at the y-m- c-a downtown "early childhood education center."

Waay31s sierra phillips was there as the lights and sirens went off!

Right now --kids from here at the y-m-c-a's early childhood education center are playing with their new presents!

Just hours ago a very special delivery brought those presents and a smile to their faces!

Instead of sleigh-bells..... these kids got ambulance sirens....and loved every second!

The reverse parade kicked off wednesday morning as kids stayed at a safe social distance.

On that ambulance-- more than 150 presents all donated by hemsi workers.

I was there early this morning as amanda snowden, the organizer of the event was putting the finishing touches on their own version of santa's sleigh.

She explains why this year is even more important for both hemsi and the kids.

Snowden- "our paramedics, our employees have had a very stressful year but for these children, you know their parents have had a rough year as well.

Its been rough on them.

I feel its extremely important to bring this little bit of joy to them during this really stressful year."

The presents were collected for two y-m-c-as here in huntsville.

100 kids total got the gifts!
