Starmer: 10-year sentence for travel liars an 'empty threat'

Sir Keir Starmer has described the government's plans to hand 10-year prison sentences to travellers who try to evade coronavirus quarantine rules as an "empty threat".

The Labour leader and former head of the Crown Prosecution Service said "I have prosecuted many cases that have ended in a 10-year sentence, and I know an empty threat when I see it".
