Forgotten hero of 1971 Indo-China war now drives auto rickshaw in Hyderabad

Ex-Army personnel and star medal awardee drives auto rickshaw on Hyderabad streets to earn his bread and butter.

Sheik Abdul Kareem received a special award for his contribution in the1971 Indo-China war.

During Indira Gandhi reign due to surplus of army personnel, several were removed from their postings.

The 71-year-old served in the army for 9 years but now is homeless and is fighting daily for a living.

Kareem requested the government for financial support in the form of pension and shelter.
