People going out of state for the vaccine

Every state has difference phases in place for who gets vaccinated first.

But many are impatient and are taking different measures to get their shots.

Kimt news 3's madelyne watkins joins us live with the action being taken by many minnesotans.

More than 15 thousand minnesotans have gone to other states to get vaccinated.

That's according to the minnesota department of health.

Some states have fewer people in the eligible tier or have trouble with people wanting to get the vaccine ?

The cdc recently ranked minnesota the number one state for administering the most shots it's been given.

Doctor robert jacobson with mayo clinic tells me that's because the system is working and we don't have all these extra shots available like other states giving it to anyone who wants it.

That's not appropriate.

Minnesota has been more careful.

On the other hand, we're going to get there.

We're going to get there in minnesota.

If you have the opportunity to get the vaccine in another state, i'm not going to stand in the way of you doing that."
