Luke Hajdasz covered damaged caused by storms in Madison and Jackson counties.

Tonight's storm also caused downed power lines and even a fire in north alabama!

Waay 31's luke hajdasz covered madison and jackson counties for us tonight.

Luke, what kind of damage did you see while out there?

Megan - a busy night for emergency crews in these two counties.

First off - here's video of power lines down on cleghorn boulevard in madison.

This is right near the shell station and cracker barrel there.

When i first got to the scene around 6:45 tonight...those wires were live.

You could actually see smoke coming from them on the ground.

Crews worked tonight to restore power to that area.

More downed lines now.

This time in jackson county.

County road 65 right off of route 72 in paint rock.

The road was closed as crews worked there to restore power.

Now to woodville.

County road 183.

Limrock volunteer fire officials there tell me wind from the storm blew over an electrical pole onto a barn on that property.

There was no one inside and no one was hurt but the barn is a total loss.

Officials say the call came in around 6:45pm.

We also heard reports in jackson county tonight of trees down and roads blocked from debris.

In madison county, not as much damage, but the e-m-a there tells me 1/2 inch diameter hail fell and the storm was likely to blame for power outage in the new hope and owens cross roads area.

Live in madison county tonight, luke hajdasz, waay 31 news.
