ON SATURDAY PEOPLE IN LEE COUNTY TRIED TO DO THEIR PART AND HELP OUT BY LISTENING TO SOME GOOD MUSIC.

There's still a long way to go on the road to recovery for many rural counties who have suffered from flood damage.

On saturday people in lee county tried to do their part and help out by listening to some good music.

Abc 36's danielle saitta gives us a listen.

Music nat tara: "we have a lot of people who didn't have a whole lot to begin with to rebuild with and we just want to make sure that they don't worry that they know that there are people out there who are going to help them" on saturday---music filled the town square of beattyville...for a very special event aimed to help out people like....billy paul step step: "my mobile home got destroyed can't live in it no more" tara caldwell who works with flood victims like step says he's not the only one who's dealing with a lot of property damage and loss.

Tara: "it's been extremely devastating it wiped out our whole town and the trailer parks several homes outside in the county were destroyed we still have about 25 living at the motel that we can't find housing for" caldwell works as administrative assistant to the lee county emergency management director...she says there's about 75 families in need... right now...they need all the help they can get from people.

Tara: "just because the flood waters are gone this is not over for us it is going to take a long time for us to rebuild we had a lot of volunteers at first and now we don't" so organizer..teresa mays wanted to lend a helping hand..by recruiting some talented volunteers with an open call for a free benefit concert to help out flood victims. tara: "and the response was unbelievable we've had a full line up 30 minute sets back to back all day long and they're all local so that audience members could enjoy a tune or two and at the same time..pay it forward.

Teresa:"every little bit adds up pennys make dollars..dollars make hundreds of dollars..hundreds of dollars makes thousands of dollars" c1 3 organizers say there's no money goal that they're currently collecting for ....and they're just trying to get as much as they can to help families and businesses.
