Getting a major upgrade for its athletic programs. the college says it'll build a $50- million dollar athletic and wellness center.
It'll include a 50- meter pool...six lane 200 meter indoor track..
And as a part of this expansion...the baseball team gets a new field and the football stadium will also get upgrades.
While it's obviously exciting for students and staff...centre college president milton moreland says it will be a benefit for so many around danville.
Milton moreland, president, centre college "so it not only impacts the 1500 students of centre college and the 500 faculty and staff, who will enjoy these incredible facilities, but it impacts the entire region, and we're happy to be a future host for a lot of great athletic competitions."
President moreland says the groundbreaking is scheduled for this fall and should be completed in about 18-months.
As it's scheduled now...athletic programs will not have a lapse in a space to use...the university plans to partner with other complexes if necessary
