News 12's angela moryan hit rocky top to see where the team is at during josh heupel's first spring tenure with the big orange.

Angie: if you can believe it, there's just one week left of spring practice for new head coach josh heupel and the tennessee volunteers.

Today's 10th practice focused a lot on passing and route running.

You can see how heupel is trying to impress that fast paced offense just by how fast paced the practices are.

In fact outside linebackers coach mike ekeler says the defense has had their hands full.

Not only are they trying to get a handle on their own new defensive schemes, they're having to deal with the fast paced new offensive schemes as well.

Either way, ekeler says it shows how hardworking this team is.

Mike ekeler: our offense, they play faster than heck now.

It's a process of putting in a new defense and then playing with that sort of tempo.

It's been a process, but every single day we've seen these guys take steps forward.

Every single day they just love to go out there.

They'd practice every day if we'd let them."

Angie: the vols have one more scrimmage this saturday before the orange and white game next week, april 24th.
