Tropical system could be heading to the US this week

Well, welcome to Monday.

It isdefinitely gonna be hot and humid as italready has been earlier, continue tobe that.

As we go into later thisafternoon, heading into tomorrow, we'regonna turn that humidity dial up alittle bit and our chances for a fewisolated thunderstorms as well.

In themeantime, just before noon today, wewere already in the eighties, acrossthe upstate seventies, in the mountains. You factor in the fields like, or theheat index and we were feeling like thelow to mid even upper nineties andthat's just gonna continue to climbeven as we go into 34 o'clock thisafternoon.

As we go into tomorrow, thefields like jumps into the tripledigits, so it's definitely gonna be alittle bit more humid as we go intotomorrow and then Wednesday andthursday.

In fact, that's going tocontinue All the way through theweekend.

So if we kind of boil it downfor you, it's definitely muggy outthere today, but it's gonna be evenmore muggy tomorrow and again towardthe end of the week.

So kind of anearly heads up.

All right, we've gottropical wave invest 94 l.

That is along title to talk about a very strongarea of low pressure.

This is just, youcan see very close to the lesserAntilles already picking up on somerainfall there.

This will cross overthat area tonight and likely become atropical depression either later todayor very early tomorrow.

And look atthis, the very latest now has a 70%chance that this will continue developover the next five days with mostweather models bringing it over Cubaand into the nice warm waters of thegulf of Mexico.

Other weather modelshave it going up into florida andpossibly along the Carolina coast.

Thiswould happen as early as this saturdayor sunday if it does kind of drive uptoward us or just sort of meander outin the gulf.

The only good news rightnow is number one, it isn't a certain,it isn't a done deal.

Number two, it'sgot a lot of land to go over before itwarms back up.

So we could be lookingat a little bit of a weaker system, butagain, a lot could change between nowand this weekend.

This ridge of highpressure out to the east, this strongbermuda high is gonna help to steerthat tropical waiver.

That potentialtropical depression right into eitherthe goal for you could see kind ofsplitting the difference betweenflorida, the gulf of Mexico, theatlantic.

So Until it really gets acore, until it gets a little bitstronger over the next 24 hours or so,it's gonna be a little bit moredifficult to track, but we will knowsomething very soon in the meantime, just know that it could be heading ourway in the next few days here.

As wetake a look at our live Super Dopplerfor HD radar, picking up on a fewspotty showers in the mountains.

We'vegot a couple of lines of showersAlready kind of making its way acrossbasically northern Georgia CentralTennessee.

So a few spotty showers, maybe an isolated downpour to as we gointo this afternoon, it's gonna beanother day where really most of us dostay dry as we head into tomorrowtemperatures back in the low 90s afeels like of 100 or higher.

And thatlittle bit of extra humidity goes along way to sing.

A few more pop upshowers and isolated thunderstorms. We'll build on that for Wednesday.

Andthen as we get into thursday and friday, that's where we're gonna turn thatlever up just a little bit more withslightly better chances of a couplethunderstorms and maybe a few downpours. And yes, it feels like in the tripledigits.

And here's another thingheading into this weekend along withtracking those tropical systems, We'realso looking at a cool front that looksto swing through late on Sunday.

Ifthat happens, that would help to pushthat tropical system out of the waywhile lowering our daytime highs intothe 80s and lessening our humidity forthe early part of next week.

Stay tuned.
