The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting Kicks Off the Holiday Season in NYC

Last night the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree was lit.

The 79-foot tall, 12-ton Norway Spruce from Elkton, Maryland, was adorned with more than 50,000 energy-efficient multi-colored LED lights using five miles of wire.

This year marks the 18th year a Swarovski Star tops the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree.
