San Francisco and San Mateo counties on Saturday officially landed on purple tier, the state's most restrictive category for Covid-19 with "widespread" risk, bringing new restrictions on businesses. That leaves Marin County as the only jurisdiction in the Bay Area that remains on the red tier, where Covid-19 is deemed "substantial."
