Carnavale Resources hits bonanza grade gold at Kookynie Project

Carnavale Resources Limited (ASX:CAV) (FRA:YBB) has intersected bonanza gold grades in the third round of aircore drilling at Kookynie Gold Project in Western Australia. While aircore drilling has identified additional shallow, high-grade gold mineralisation under cover, bonanza grade gold has been intersected at McTavish East. Results from McTavish East include 4 metres at 31.08 g/t from 96 metres with the hole ending in mineralisation and 2 metres at 32.5 g/t from 18 metres. Carnavale’s drilling program was designed to follow up on the strong gold anomalies identified by the first and second rounds of aircore drilling, as well as explore the potential at Champion South. “Historic high-grade gold production” Carnavale chairman Ron Gajewski said: “The Kookynie district is famous for historic high-grade gold production. “We are very excited to have discovered a new gold zone with bonanza grades undercover at Kookynie. “From this recent drilling, we have grown the mineralised zones and have a greater understanding of the orientation of the gold-bearing structures. “We are ready to drill deeper with RC to unlock the high-grade gold potential at depth.” Bonanza grades at McTavish East Carnavale has discovered gold mineralisation with the anomaly striking over 550 metres and remains open to the northeast and at depth at McTavish East. McTavish East prospect is immediately east of Nex Metals Ltd’s (ASX:NME) and Metalicity Ltd’s (ASX:MCT) McTavish tenements. Primary gold mineralisation at McTavish East is found in northeast-trending structures that have a deeper weathering profile and are characterszed by an alluvial gold anomaly to the east. Apart from the bonanza grades, other strong intersections include: 8 metres at 4.06 g/t gold from 20 metres, including 2 metres at 15.6 g/t; 12 metres at 3.37 g/t from 50 metres; 6 metres at 2.09 g/t from 82 metres and 8 metres at 1.02 g/t from 52 metres, including 4 metres at 1.76 g/t; and 5 metres at 1.73 g/t from 74 metres, including 3 metres at 2.68 g/t. McTavish North high-grades  At McTavish North Carnivale’s recent aircore drilling has identified wide zones of gold mineralisation in the regolith profile that provide a vector to potential high-grade mineralisation at depth. The new zone identified by recent drilling strikes 240 metres to the north and remains open. Primary gold mineralisation at McTavish North strikes north/south on a structure that hosts MCT and NME’s McTavish project to the south. Best intersections include: 2 metres at 16.3 g/t gold from 10 metres; 6 metres at 2.53 g/t from 18 metres, including 2 metres at 6.55 g/t; 6 metres at 2.32 g/t from 26 metres, including 4 metres at 3.29 g/t; 4 metres at 2.95 g/t from 0 metres; 6 metres at 1.75 g/t from 26 metres,including 2 metres at 4.64 g/t; and 8 metres at 1.23 g/t from 31 metres. At Champion South broad shallow gold was returned with intersections of: 6 metres at 1.19 g/t gold from 30 metres; 10 metres at 0.93 g/t from 32 metres; and 8 metres at 0.65 g/t from 44 metres. Proposed work program Carnivale has proposed drill testing at depth and along strike from the shallow high-grade gold mineralisation defined by the recent aircore drilling. In addition, the company aims to interpret the multi-element geochemistry and drainage anomalies to provide a further understanding of the morphology of the mineralising systems.
